Brain v. Mind

The Power and Distinction of Your Brain and Mind

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Most times, we stop reading right there. Still, the next verse says. Who (Christ), being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. Philippians 2:5-7

And I BReaThe! Did you know there is a distinction between your mind and your brain? Your brain houses your mind, but your mind is the soul of your existence, and it feeds your spirit. Mental Health is vitally important and is not a bad word, particularly when if it is not healthy. Our breath allows and supplies our brain oxygen, which causes the mind to remember who it is.

Sometimes, the challenge is the brain has experienced trauma and has been reconfigured in such a way it is unable to feed the mind healthy thoughts or remember it needs to return home to health through various processes. Stigmas have been placed around the processes. Sometimes its counseling, medication and counseling, prayer and meditation, and or prayer, meditation, counseling, and medicine.

Many of us are experiencing frustration, anxiousness, depression, worry, and understandable fear. These are all conditions of the mind. Many times brought on by circumstances and situations outside of our control. Or is it? Then there are mental health aliments that are exasperated by the above and require medical balancing and treatment. In both cases, the important thing is to remember it is a path home to wholeness in mind, thinking, and being.

How do we embrace the fullness of being when our way of being is to suppress our feelings, emotions, and push? Often times continuing despite the feelings of ugliness, worthlessness, emptiness, overwhelm, the suffocation of dreams, and the guilt of not trusting God, or admitting children, and family is not enough. We want it to be, but the nagging feelings of “it must be more than this,” lies at the root of many of our smiles.

The return home is acceptance, release, and embrace. Home is taking GOD out of our experiences and allowing the vastness of the Creator to permeate every breath. Accepting God is not relegated to our experiences with GOD and releasing our knowledge as the journey home to God's omnipotent power and love within our being. Embracing is our responsibility to see and have the mind as the infinite source of all life has provided to us. Home is in each and every one of us through the Holy Spirit.

What are some of the practical tools in this process of mental health:

Daily spiritual practices may include:

· prayer,
· mediation,
· affirmation,
· being still and present to your breath,
· authentic journaling.
· Professional counseling or coaching

Daily self-care may Include:

· your diet (food),
· being aware of how you feel before, during, and after eating.
· Body movement, walking, biking, dancing, yoga, breath-work,
· quiet time, reading, bubble baths with your favorite bath salts, and bath soaps are just a few ways of self-care.

Family and Friend time:

· spending quality time with family may include:

The main thing is forgiveness. Forgiving yourself for neglecting yourself and your mental health and knowing it is okay if you need assistance during this time. Reach out to a professional coach, counselor, minister who has professional training to counsel, or psychologist to support and guide you through the process home.

Finally, remember the frustration, anxiousness, depression, feelings of worthlessness are all calls to return us to our rightful place home. Sometimes the brain needs to be regulated so the mind can heal and it is ok, doesn’t make us a failure.
